Accountant (Columbia Group-SS)
Job Overview:
We are seeking to recruit an Accountant to take responsibility for the accounting operations of two of our group companies. This role involves issuing invoices, maintaining accurate records, performing reconciliations, and ensuring timely submission of VAT, VIES, and other tax obligations. The semi-senior accountant will work with a good degree of independence while reporting to the Senior Accountant and Financial Manager.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Invoicing & Record Management
- Take full ownership of issuing and managing customer invoices for the assigned companies.
- Record financial transactions accurately and maintain organized documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
Reconciliations & Compliance
- Reconcile bank, receivable, payable, and balance sheet accounts regularly.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, escalating complex issues to the Senior Accountant.
- Prepare and submit VAT, VIES, and other tax information in a timely manner.
Reporting & Audit Support
- Assist with month-end close and prepare standard financial reports.
- Provide data and documentation to support internal and external audits.
- Contribute to budgeting and variance analysis by supplying accurate transaction details.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Liaise with other departments to verify transaction accuracy.
- Support the Senior Accountant in enhancing accounting processes and internal controls.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Secondary school certificate with LCC Higher certificate in Accountancy and experience of at least 2 (two) years or University degree in Accountancy or holder of the IAT professional qualification;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with accounting software and ERPs.
- Good communication skills combined with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team;
- Very good command of the English language.
- Good organizational skills.
